This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The Chicago Lying-In Pregnancy Program (CLIPP) is a biobanking initiative to collect and store DNA and other blood products from all women seeking prenatal medical care and who deliver at The University of Chicago Hospitals. These samples and the corresponding clinical data will comprise a resource for investigators to address important questions related to successful and compromised pregnancy. A main goal of CLIPP is to foster collaborative research among investigators at The University of Chicago interested in studying outcomes related to pregnancy and infant health. Our more specific goal is to identify maternal and fetal genetic and immunologic markers of adverse pregnancy outcomes, such as preterm delivery, preeclampsia, and intrauterine growth restriction.
