The objective of the Obesity and Energy Metabolism Core is to provide center investigators with the latest toolsfor developing and evaluating gain-of-function and loss-of-function models and the techniques to assess theconsequences at the level of gene and/or protein expression. The Core will facilitate rapid and cost-effectiveacquisition of research results of participating investigators by providing access, training, and expertise in keymolecular technology platforms used in obesity research. For this purpose, the core services are divided intofour main components: the Virus Production facility, Microarray Analysis facility, Real Time PCR facility andMass Spectrometry and Proteomics facility.
