An award has been made to St. Cloud State University under the direction of Dr. Brian Olson for the acquisition of an imaging station for use in research and teaching on biomolecules. The imaging system will replace a conventional photography system and provide great safety to users, as well as digital images that are readily analyzed. Many research projects in biology and chemistry need to visualize DNA, RNA, and proteins in studies of cells, gene regulation, and membrane structure, so the instruments will be broadly used in several departments. The instrument is easy to use and can be effectively integrated into classes such as genetics and biochemistry.
