This proposal is for a short meeting of representatives of Earth-surface (critical zone) centers and community efforts, to discuss and coordinate plans and initiatives related to NSF Earth-science cyberinfrastructure (CI). The meeting will include presentations by NSF leadership as well as by the various groups about their current and planned research related to NSF CI. It will include discussion of actual and potential requests for support for observatories and natural laboratories. The meeting will last for one day and will be held at NSF headquarters in Arlington. The proposed list of invitees and a tentative agenda are given below.
