?s abstract): Pinal County, Arizona, one of 15 counties in the state, has a population of over 150,000 and is rural in nature. There are no existing medical libraries in the county, and access to health information is very limited. The Pinal County, Arizona Information Infrastructure Development Project proposes to strengthen the existing relationship between consortium members comprising the Pinal County Collaborative Network Working Group, improve access to health information, establish linkages to local and statewide resources in addition to the resources of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, train each institution to use the Internet version of GRATEFUL MED and PubMed, expedite the flow of information to end-users via LOANSOME DOC, and subscribe to an Internet Service Provider so as to access information via the Web. By developing GRATEFUL MED and Internet capabilities in the Casa Grande Regional Medical Center, Pinal Gila Behavioral Health Association, and Sun Life Family Health Center, rural health providers in Pinal County, Arizona, will have access to up-to-date health information - something they currently do not have.
