The MISSION Act expands Veterans? ability to receive care in the community. Currently, little is known about access to and the quality of the care provided to Veterans in the community versus through the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). This HSR&D planning proposal lays the groundwork for a comprehensive evaluation of care quality and access through community care and VHA for three high-impact and prevalent conditions among Veterans: Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and chronic pain.
