This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of developing the Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer's Prevention is to identify a group of individuals (e.g., children of persons diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease) who may be at an increased risk for developing Alzheimer's disease (AD) and who would be willing to participate in research studies to identify and evaluate factors which may delay or prevent the onset of AD. If successful, this research might allow doctors to identify people who are at increased risk of developing AD and then to reduce or prevent their risk of developing symptoms.
