The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Objective: The objective of these studies is to investigate the prenatal pathogenesis of obstructive renal disease in a nonhuman primate model that parallels the disease observed in humans. An important feature of this model is the recapitulation of normal glomerular development and architecture, which is associated with significant podocyte apoptosis and is evident as early as the pre-vascularized S-shaped nephron.
