Support is requested for a Keystone Symposia conference entitled RNA Editing and Modifications: From Biology to Therapy organized by Drs. Jin Billy Li, Stacy M. Horner and Michaela Frye. The conference will be held in Denver, Colorado from October 1-4, 2020. RNA editing and modifications, also referred to as the epitranscriptome, play critical roles in life. Empowered by development of new technologies, the field has witnessed a major transformation in recent years. We now have a much deeper understanding of the regulation and functions of RNA editing and modifications, as well as their roles in human diseases such as cancer, viral infection and autoimmune diseases. Furthermore, the therapeutic applications start to emerge. This conference aims to bring together leading experts in RNA editing and modifications, technology development, and medicine to present the latest findings and seed new collaborations. We anticipate that participants of this conference will benefit from learning the cutting edge of the rapidly advancing field and help move the field forward by creating collaboration opportunities.
The conference is focused on exploring the current knowledge on RNA modification to improve and design novel therapeutic strategies. This conference aims to bring together leading experts in RNA editing and modifications, technology development, and medicine to present latest findings and initiate new collaborations. By bringing a group such as this together, it will create synergies among scientists, facilitating the identification of RNA modifications as targets for novel therapeutic strategies, especially for cancer and autoimmune conditions.
