Indiana State University The research involves an investigation of sedimentation and erosion in the Waiapoa River basin in New Zealand during the late Quaternary and Holocene. Data collection will focus on coring of the floodplain of the river. The analysis of the information gathered will involve a variety of stratigraphic, sedimentologic, and relative and absolute dating techniques to reconstruct the depositional history in the basin. The depositional history will be related to data on the record of climate change, tectonism, and human history in the region.
