This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this observational study is to see how levels of HIV in the blood compare to those in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), a fluid found around your brain and spinal cord before and after the administration of potent antiretroviral therapy. Also the levels of the different antiretroviral drugs will be measured in the blood and in the CSF and the effects of those drugs will be evaluated. To be in this study, persons also must be participating in an antiretroviral therapy study.
