Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.The main purpose of this research study is to see if taking atazanavir (Reyataz), a protease inhibitor, combined with a low amount of ritonavir will control HIV infection without using other HIV drugs. This study will also see if this treatment is safe in treating HIV infection and if there are any side effects when using atazanavir with ritonavir.
