This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Adjusting the body s internal clock is important for reducing the symptoms of jet lag and for treating some sleep disorders. The current study will look at how light exposure, the hormone melatonin taken as a pill, and caffeine taken as a pill, help to adjust the body s clock. To do so we will ask you to live in the laboratory for several days on four separate occasions. The findings from this study may improve our ability to treat jet lag and sleep problems.
