This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of the study is to test the effects of the Alpha Stim SCS device on common symptoms in women receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer. The study will attempt to determine if using the Alpha Stim device will produce greater benefits that an inactive device, and/or treatment as usual for the same amount of time and whether women receiving chemotherapy can use the devise successfully. There is little published data on how microcurrent cranial electrotherapy works in helping symptoms related to chemotherapy.
