Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.This study is to: *Evaluate the safety and tolerability of 1 dose of adenoviral vector vaccine prime followed by 1 dose of adenoviral vector vaccine boost and 2 doses of DNA vaccine prime followed by 1 dose of adenoviral vector vaccine boost* describe the kinetics of the HIV specific CD4 and CD8 cell responses* describe the kinetics of binding antibody responses * compare the effects priming with DNA vs. priming with adenovirus* describe the social impact of participation.
