Abstract

This study compares the safety and efficacy of two dosing schedules of dapsone (daily versus weekly), for the prevention of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia in children infected with HIV. Three patients from CHOP have been enrolled in this study (2 patients during the past year). This study closed to accrual of new patients during 1996 after reaching its target accrual of 96 patients. All patients completed study treatment in February, 1997. Data analysis is underway. No preliminary data are yet available regarding efficacy or toxicity of this prophylaxis regimen.
