Individuals with VCFS can display a variety of impairments such as dysmorphic facial features, cardiac abnormalities, and learning disabilities. In addition, individuals with VCFS are at an increased risk of developing illnesses like schizophrenia. Little is known about how this absence of DNA is related to an increased risk of psychiatric illness. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to combine neuropsychological tests that measure functions of the frontal lobe with brain imaging techniques to better understand VCFS.
