The specific aims of the preposed randomized trial are to examine in 50 postmenopausal women with breast cancer the effect of a Therapeutic Lifestyle Change intervention targeting weight loss incorporating a low-calorie diet and moderate intensity exercise program compared to a control condition on: Primary aims: Body weight change and insulin resistance change estimated by: 1) fasting insulin level and 2) Homeostasis Model Assessment (HOMA). Secondary aims: Health-related quality of life and fatigue, adipose tissue: Body Mass Index (BMI), total fat mass (measure via DEXA scan), waist and hip circumference, Sagittal thickness and the ratio of truncal versus peripheral fat. Serum Insulin-Like Growth Factors; IGF-1; IGF-2; Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Proteins, IGFBP-1, IGFBP-3; Leptin. Serum estrone, total estradiol, free and bioavailable estradiol, estrone sulphate, total and free testosterone, androsteindione, DHEA, DHEA-S, Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG).
