This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Provide a brief explanation of the research project. State its overall objectives, specific aims and rationale. Please provide relevant background information on the hypothesis to be tested and the procedures/products/techniques under investigation, including references/citations, if applicable. Note: If you are applying for exempt or expedited status, please provide a justification for the appropriate category here.
