The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Accurately measure visceral and subcutaneous fat deposits, liver fat, and other important elements of fat deposition including total body fat and fat within the skeletal muscle, epicardium and the pancreas in obese children using magnetic resonance methods. Measure the components of metabolic syndrome in obese children. Characterize the relationship between adipose and the metabolic syndrome including the influence of race and ethnicity.
