Compare Fed and Fasted Gastric and Small Bowel Motility in Normal Subjects

Abstract

Establish normal criteria for postprandial gastric antral contractile activity and for fasting patterns of the migrating motor complex. The cutaneous electrogastrogram will be recorded and compared to enterally recorded pressure tracings. Serum motilin levels, fed and fasting, will be established.
