SPECIFIC AIMS : Phase 1: To define the risk factors, response to treatment and pathophysiology of acute secondary adrenal insufficiency (ASAI) after traumatic brain injury (TBI). Phase 2. To define the rate and risk factors of chronic anterior and posterior pituitary failure after TBI. Phase 3. To determine the impact of growth hormone (GH) replacement therapy on neurobehavioral function, quality of life, body composition, muscle strength and economic outcomes in GH deficient and GH insufficient patients after TBI.
