This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. In this study, we will: 1. Determine whether administration of the TNF-RA improves subjective- and objective measures of sleep as measured by nocturnal electroencephalogram (EEG) in alcohol-dependent individuals. 2. Evaluate whether administration of the TNF-RA alters daytime sleepiness as measured by the Multiple Sleep Latency Test. 3. Evaluate whether administration of the TNF-RA alters the nocturnal and daytime secretory profile of cytokines in alcohol-dependent individuals.
