This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The goal of the study is to find 1000 families around the country- 50-100 at UCLA- that have 2 or more members with late-onset AD in the next 3 years. Clinical and demographic data along with a blood sample will be collected. This information and the blood sample will be forwarded to the National Cell Repository for Alzheimer's Disease (NCRAD) at Indiana University for storage and processing. The information obtained from these families will be a national resource for researchers who are working to find genes that may play a role in the occurrence of late-onset, familial AD and related disorders.
