Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this study is to; (1) determine the effects of carvedilol and metropolol on endothelial function over time, (2) determine the effects of these agents on endothelial function at a baseline state and in response to oxidative stress in the form of acute hyperglycemia, and (3) determine if these effects persist after drug discontinuation.
