Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.The goals of the current study are to answer the following questions: 1) Does a brief motivational interview have an impact on injured intoxicated drivers and passengers in comparison to control subjects with respect to client function with subsequent impact on DUI and injury recidivism? 2) Is there an effect of assessment on DUI and injury recidivism?
