This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The study will develop scientific knowledge about the relationship between alcohol use and clinical outcomes of HIV disease. The study addresses the complexity of predictors that interact in important ways (e.g. alchohol, HCV, illicit drug use, medication use and adherance) and predictors of outcomes that vary over time (e.g. alcohol use, medication use, illicit drug use, CD4 and CD8 counts.)
