This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Pulsatile GnRH is delivered via a programmed portable infusion pump to patients with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. The dose of GnRH is based on previous studies which indicate that a dose of 75 ng/kg is generally associated with single follicle development and ovulation and normal hormonal dynamics. Seven days of pulsatile GnRH treatment is adequate for priming of the pituitary and will allow us to determine normal vs abnormal responses and whether subjects have a pituitary component to their disorder or whether it is purely hypothalamic.
