The seeming generality of neurocognitive deficits in schizophrenia leaves one searching for a parsimonious explanation - a deficiency in a basic process that may be required in common by many cognitive functions.The goals of this study are to explore the basis of this sleep-dependent failure of consolidation and to determine whether sleep and cognition are improved by eszopiclone.
