The purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis that light exposure causes melatonin suppression, phase advances, and delays of the human circadian system (as assessed by plasma melatonin, cortisol, and body temperature)and positive acute effects alertness, mood and performance in a manner that is dependant upon previous photic exposure levels with large phase shifts, melatonin suppression, and acute alertness effects caused by sensitization due to lower intensities of light during previous photic exposure.
