Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.The purpose of the study is to educate primary health care providers about oral health in children. The educational program will be either by lecture presentation or a computer-based self-tutorial. Some providers also receive patient-based hand-on teaching with patients through random assignments. Primary care providers will be evaluated in their ability to identify dental problems including dental cavities and assess risk factors in children.
