This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.This study is being done to look at how using glargine insulin with oral medications and exenatide may improve control of your blood sugar levels. Both of these medications are currently approved by the FDA for use in Type 2 diabetics to assist in adequately managing steady blood sugar levels. What is being looked at in this study is the combination of exenatide with glargine insulin with a baseline treatment with oral antidiabetic medication.
