Centralization of administrative support will benefit each of the five projects, as well as the Scientific Core, involved in the Program Project grant. Administrative personnel will provide services and general clericalduties such as: managing sub-project budgets, monitoring salaries and efforts of all personnel involved in theprogram, ordering supplies, ensuring timely receipt of orders, monitoring expenditures to verify accuracy ofcharges to each sub-project, and assisting with correspondence and manuscript preparation. Staff from theAdministrative Core will facilitate committee meetings and organize meetings sponsored by the ProjectLeaders of the Program Project grant. In addition, the Administrative Core facilitates intra- and inter-departmental interactions for the Project Leaders of the Program Project, and notifies and helps implementchanges in Hospital policies and procedures. Members of the Core communicate policy changes through avariety of means (e.g., via e-mail, departmental in-services, etc.) to ensure Program Project personnel arekept current on these changes.
