The Hybridoma Core Laboratory provides a centralized resource for the Program for all aspects of monoclonal antibody (mAb) production including 1) immunization of animals (Balb/c mice), 2) screening of animal sera for immune responses, 3) performing fusion protocols and all cell culture related to the production, cloning and establishment of stable hybridoma cell lines, 4) performing screening protocols for mAbs using ELISA, Western blot, immunofluorescence microscopy, and flow cytometry, 5) producing and purifying selected mAbs from ascitic fluid, 6) isotyping mAbs, and 7) conjugating selected mAbs for particular experiments (ie. to FITC or biotin).
