Developmental funds have played a key role in facilitating scientific growth and increased interdisciplinarycollaboration at Massey Cancer Center during the current funding period. As the Center will remain on asteep growth curve during the next 5 years, the specific goals to be pursued using developmental funds willbe the following. Facilitation of strategic expansion of scientific programs through new faculty recruitment, Fostering new intra-programmatic and inter-programmatic scientific collaborations and pursuit ofnovel hypotheses by bringing together investigators to collaborate on innovative pilot projects, and Development of new shared resources to promote and expand high priority scientific activities of theCancer Center.
