Abstract

The goal of this support is to assist clinical investigators in carrying out hypothesis-driven, investigator-initiated early phase and pilot clinical trials. The information provided indicates that the number of phase I trials has increased from five in 1994 to 36 in 1997, and since 1995, 152 patients have been treated on phase I trials. A table provided shows 135 therapeutic accruals to phase I and pilot studies during July 1997 to June 1998. The resource will be managed by an oversight committee, the Resource Allocation Committee.
