The goals and objectives of the BEMFC are to facilitate high-quality CEHS research activities by providing state-of-the-art biostatistical and quantitative epidemiologic expertise to CEHS researchers in both study design and data analysis. Specific interactions between BEMFC members and CEHS researchers involve the optimal design of research studies, the implementation of sophisticated statistical analyses of research data, the development of innovative biostatistical and epidemiologic methods to address non-standard design and analysis issues, and the organization and presentation of educational opportunities (e.g., seminars, workshops, symposia) as they relate directly to biostatistical and epidemiological needs of CEHS researchers. These interactions will help to insure that CEHS research studies are both valid and precise, leading to meaningful and relevant scientific conclusions about important environmental health issues.
