Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.We are mapping the phosphorylation sites of Ace2, a G1 specific transcription factor from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, using our newly developed HMS-MS technique. In collaboration with Vincent Archambault from the laboratories of Mike Rout and Fred Cross, a cell cycle-block/release experiment was conducted and the phosphorylation state of Ace2 as a function of cell cycle was assayed using HMS-MS. Relative quantitation of phosphorylation was begun using internal standards and metabolic labeling. A paper describing this work is in preparation.
