This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.A project was initiated by SSRL in collaboration with the ALS, the APS SBC-CAT, CHESS, NSLS, and industrial companies to develop a sample storage container, called the Uni-Puck, that would be directly compatible with all robotic macromolecular crystal sample mounting systems currently in use in the United States and many of the systems used abroad. Version 1 of the Uni-Puck was designed, constructed, commissioned and tested extensively, and new software was developed and integrated in Blu-Ice for control and use of the Uni-Puck with the SSRL robotic system on the SSRL beam lines.
