Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.We hope to solve the crystal structure of the heptameric anthrax pore. Pre-pore structures and monomer structures have been solved, however a major conformational change has been suggested to occur on pore formation where the 7 domain 2's flip out to form a beta-barrel membrane spanning channel. We have crystallized this channel in multiple crystal forms.
