This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. 15N 13C resonance assignments for human chymotrypsinogen (hCTRB) will facilitate the NMR studies of serine proteinase and the complex between serine proteinase and its protein inhibitors. By comparing the NMR spectra of chymotrypsinogen and chymotrypsin, we may further understand the molecular mechanism of enzyme activation and enzyme catalysis in terms of both structure and dynamics.
