Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Downtime & Maintenance includes failure of instruments during scheduled use (30%) and routine maintenance of hardware (cleaning, alignment, replacement of consumables) and software (70%). This does not include any 'downtime' associated with the move from Champaign to Irvine. It also includes improvement, upgrading and restructuring of the existing LFD instrumentation and facilities.
