The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Retrograde signaling in neuronal axons and anterograde signaling in dendrites ocurrs in part by a Pincher-mediated mechanism of macroendocytosis. To characterize this process, Quantum dot-labeled ligand or tetracysteine-tagged recombinant proteins will be used to follow retrograde transport of signaling endosomes at both the light microscope (fluorescence) and electron microscope (TEM) levels.
