This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The heparin binding site on the protein IL-4 is being foot printed using H/D MS techniques. In addition a 3D model to aid in the interpretation of the MS data is being generated by computationally docking a decamer of the glycan to the X-ray structure of IL-4. MD simulations are being employed to identify all exchangeable amide hydrogen atoms.
