This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. Allan Johnson and Cristian Badea, this is a graduate student research project using the scanning electron microscope operated by the Duke Shared Materials Instrumentation Facility, and add a metal target, window, and x-ray camera to perform x-ray imaging and tomography with sub-micron resolution. If successful, he will attempt to use the data to construct neuronal maps of small specimens of organisms such as roundworms, fruit flies, ants.
