This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. We have a long interest in the relationship between the primary structure of proteins with the secondary, tertiary or quatenary structure. To provide the information necessary to explore these relationships, we have developed a Protein Structure database (PSdb) (Deerfield and Geigel, 1996) that contains information about the structure of all proteins reported in the brookhaven PDB with side chain coordinates. A GUI, written in Java, has been developed. Publications - Deerfield II, D.W., Ropelewski, A.J., Nicholas Jr., H.B.. 1999. Characterization of Protein-Metal Ion Binding Sites J. Mol. Biol. submitted.
