This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. We have identified several essential, conserved proteins that are present in 66S pre-ribosomes and necessary for ribosome assembly. In order to identify neighbors of these proteins in assembling ribosomes or to explore for moonlighting partners, we have begun screening the P. James library for partners of each protein. We would also like to collaborate with the YRC to screen your ordered two-hybrid library, using each of these proteins as bait.
