This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The Verma lab project involves finding cellular targets of the IKK complex using 2D-gel electrophoresis, immunoprecipitation, and mass spectrometry. In collaboration, we have identified several potential cellular targets. We are now in the process of obtaining additional data to support our hypothesis that several of those targets are indeed substrates of the IKK complex, using mass spectrometry to determine sites phosphorylated in vivo.
