This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. We will study the possibility of using a data flow model as a basis for integrating computation and data access. Often, data flow systems are used to process collections of data which, in many cases, come about as the result of queries on data bases. We think that we can obtain a more powerful and flexible instrument by integrating the data base access into the data flow engine. This will allow us an automatic access to remote data repositories, as well as possible optimization of the access+computation activity.
