This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Construction of the Phase III bending magnet beam line radiation enclosures has been completed on schedule. The construction of the radiation enclosures and installation of the associated utilities was performed under contract by Tecknit Shielding, Inc. APS has completed installation of the front end collimation and shutter systems as well as the Personnel Protection System. Following successful validation of the radiation integrity of the enclosures upon resumption of APS accelerator operations the last week in May, the entire 24-BM enclosure will be ready for installation of the optical components and experimental equipment.
